Stamping Convention
Well, we had a great time Saturday at the convention. I was so excited today that I had time to "play" with some of my new stamps and supplies! Of course since I love to shop, I thought I would start with this purse card. The stamps and little red flowers are from Savvy Stamps (one of my favorite booths at the convention). The paper is from Stampin' up. Watch for more of my convention finds later this week.
I've Been Tagged!
Thanks Ang Love your blog! So here is what I am suppose to do; list 7 things about myself and then tag 7 more people. Here are 7 things about me!
1. I love to shop! I am addicted to scoping out the local dollar stores and the local craft stores always looking for ways to be creative. If I spent less time in the stores, I would have more time to create!
2. I have always lived in Michigan, as a matter of fact, I live in the same neighborhood that I grew up in (so does my brother!) We didn't go very far at all! We each live about 1 block from where we grew up (plus he married the girl across the street!)
3. Since I am a teacher and don't work in the summer (yahoo!), we spend alot of time in Ludington, Michigan (we have a trailer up there). It is one of the most beautiful places in Michigan!
4. My dog Max is just like one of my kids! He is a Bichon-Maltese and he even has his own little scrapbook!!
5. My second "free time" passion is reading. I love Janet Evanovich books; the Stephanie Plum series! It is a laugh out loud kind of series and I can't wait until her next book comes out (this June).
6. I love coffee! I can't imagine a morning without my cup of coffee and some yummy flavored cream!
7. I love my computer (and now that I am blogging) I am totally addicted!
Thanks for checking me out, now check out some of these blogs!
I tried to pick some that haven't been tagged yet, so have fun checking them out!
1. Nancy's Stuff Love the teacher's gift!
2. Croppycatter's Corner Cute stuff!
3. {Stampin' Gal Val} I have been checking out her stuff for a while. Love it!
4. Mynee's Musing Love reading her thoughts! Makes me smile!
5. For The First Time Love all the different things she uses!
6. The Pink Stamper Check out her blog candy! How fun!
7. Created By U Love the color coach - great idea!
Enjoy everyone!

Time to Shop!
Well, it's that time of year again, time for the stamping convention. I'm so excited! Not only do I get to see some new things, but I get to hang out with some friends who enjoy the same hobbies I do. And of course, after shopping comes lunch. The inspiration for this card came from my friend Stephanie. As we were making plans for a day of shopping, I remembered that I would need to switch purses (for comfort!) So I made this purse card in honor of our shopping day. The funny thing is, I got this stamp at the convention two years ago and everyone loves it. This purse card is the perfect size for holding a gift card. The envelope is made with some left over pattern paper. Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see some of our purchases from the convention. Happy shopping, always!

Flower Theme Giftbox
This is the giftbox I put together for one of our wonderful secretaries at our school. The staff asked me to put some cards together for "Administrative Assistant Day" (Secretary's Day). I went with a flower theme and the words were cut from the Cricut (Walk In My Garden). I thought the words were a perfect sentiment for how our staff feels! I hope she likes them!

Beach Theme
I was asked to create a gift for our school secretary with a beach theme. This is what I came up with! I hope she likes it. The basket is from Michael's. The flip flop card is lifted from a past Paper Crafts magazine. I didn't use their pattern, I created my own size, but the layout was basically the same. The seahorse card was made with the Cricut using the Doodle Charms cartridge. The backgound of seahorse is made with the new papertreyink set Faux Ribbon. TFL!

Flower Cans
Our school was having a "Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast" and I made these flowers for table decorations. Each can has a plant marker with a name of each teacher. Now with that project done, I need to work on some gifts for our secretary for "Administrative Assisstant day (or Secretary's Day). Her theme is going to be the "beach".

Cupcake Sweetie
Yahoo! It's Friday! After a long week with five year olds, I think I deserve this cupcake! Doesn't it look yummy! This cute little cupcake stamp is from the Michael's dollar bin! The polka dot frame is stamp is from Great Impressions - isn't it darling? So many possibilities! The bottom edge is made with scallop scissors. I am so into scallops lately!! Well, all these cupcake cards are making me hungry, so I'm off for a sweet treat and then on to stamping (with my new papertreyink sets that just came in)! Happy Friday!

Scallop circles (without the punch)!
The latest craze has been the scallop punches (by Marvy). They have been on backorder, they sell on ebay for unheard of prices. Of course, I just had to have them as well. And actually, I did just get them in the mail -yahoo!! But for those of you that can't find them and if you have the Cricut, you are in luck! The mini monogram has a scallop circle on it. And unlike the punch, you can cut your scallop circles in 11 different sizes. Now that is worth the investment! This card is made with the Stampin' up cupcake from Figures of Speech. I then punched it out with my Creative Memeories circle punch. The pink border circle is cut with the Cricut (again - mini monogram 2 1/2 size). The scallop circle is cut from brown 2 1/2 size. The pink background is made with the happy birthday embossing folder from Cuttlebug. The bottom tag is from the new set Faux Ribbon from papertreyink. A little ribbon and glitter finish it up.

Scrapping and stamping Get-together
I invited a few friends over for a day of scrapping and stamping. We had so much fun and the day went by so fast!! Of course, I had to have party favors for when they arrived. I found these wonderful "crystal gem" flower stickers in the dollar bin at JoAnn Fabrics. I thought they were so much fun, I filled a clear paint can to display them. For my friends, I made "popcorn" boxes from the cricut and filled them with the gem flowers, a matching glitter bead pen, and tubes of glitter and micro beads. And a matching note pad cube. I want to start planning my next "get together"!

My Room
My husband built this room for me a few years ago. (This was my Christmas present from him). It started out as an old storage room in our basement. It had collected furniture, toys, tools and overall junk over the years. The walls weren't even all dry-walled yet. There was no ceiling and just cement floor. I had said on several occassions "This would make a great room someday!" When we got around to actually doing it, it took about 6 months of renovation, but well worth it! Just last week for my birthday, all I wanted was a little more shelving (you know how those supplies keep multiplying!) Soooo.... a few trips to Target and JoAnn Fabrics and here are the results! I love my studio! (My dad calls it my "sanctuary").
Paper Pup Hello
I have had the Cricut machine since last summer and just love it. It is a must for all paper crafters! I just got the Paper Pups cartridge at Jo-Ann Fabrics (for a fabulous price!) and wanted to play around with it. I also found this crystal gem flower stickers at Jo-Ann's (again, a fabulous price - a whole package for a dollar!) This simple card only takes minutes to create with the Cricut!
File Folder Card
Being a teacher, I just love the look of file folder cards. At one time, I had bought some file folder cards, but now I just created my own pattern and that way I can use any color cardstock. The possiblities are unlimited with this design. I used a sticker of a dog for this card. The birthday saying is from Curly Sentiments (Close to my Heart). A paper clip with some gingham ribbon finished off this card.
Hip Hip Hooray
I just got this new set (Hip Hip Hooray from Stampin' Up) and I love it already . There are so many possiblities just waiting to be made! I used markers to color the raccoon and balloons. The stitched look is made from a white gel pen and a paper piercer. I also used the white gel pen to add trim to the scallop cut on the patterned paper. The finishing touch is the black and white ribbon.
Flower Tag Card
I found these fun library pockets at my local Teacher Store. I used the big flower from the Stampin' Up set Big Blooms. I used a circle punch for the center. The flower is popped out using a dimensional glue dot. At the bottom, I added some rick-rack ribbon. The inside tag is just cut from white cardstock. I added some matching fiber (yarn).
