Birthday Hat

I made this card from the same template I used on the strawberry card (Tart and Tangy set). Instead of the strawberry, I used the birthday hat from the set Let's Party (retired Stampin' Up). The ribbon on this card is from Stampin' Up. And of course I used the scallop punch, again! I could use this on every card. I just ordered some scallop and circle nestablitites (made by Spellbinders) from JK Crafts (they are having free shipping until Labor Day, thought this would be a good time to order a few things!) These are suppose to be like die cutters and I think they emboss as well. I have seen alot of cute ideas using these, I'll let you know how they work or if they work!

Wow Flowers

I have been seeing so many cute ideas with this set Wow Flowers (Stampin' Up) that I just had to get it. It is such a simple set, but the cards are kind of cute. I used the scallop punch on all of these cards. I also used the new colors from Stampin' Up (Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss). I had to try them out. I have seen some cute color combos with these new colors. TFL!

Cupcakes

I was working on a few birthday cards and wanted to try out a cupcake set I got at JoAnn's. They are clear stamps by Inkadinkado. The cupcakes are cute, but I wasn't really happy with the way the card turned out. I don't think I like the striped paper - maybe it is too busy. The saying at the bottom sort of gets lost. The sentiment stamp is from Savvy stamps. The sentiment is very intricate and was a little difficult to work with, it kept getting "blobbed up"! The next two cupcake cards I liked a little better. This set is Figures of Speech (Stampin Up). The polka dot paper is from the Target dollar spot. (You never know what you are going to find there!) The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby (on sale for $1.00 - they run that sale every few weeks it seems). The sentiment is from the clear stamps cupcake set.

Good Friends and Convention Fun!

I was thinking back to what I was doing one week ago, and I was having a good time shopping (and eating) and hanging out with friends in Novi, Michigan for the Stamping Convention. Here's a picture of me with my hand injury (too much stamping is what my husband says!) standing next to Connie's van sporting this great license plate! Next is a picture of us stopping at the huge JoAnn Fabrics store. Here is Connie and Teres and Ruthie. (We ran into Teres and Ruthie out shopping - can you believe the coincidence??) After a day and night of shopping, Pam P. was driving us around her old stomping ground and she shared this great ice cream place with us. (yum!) My mouth is watering just thinking about that yummy ice cream cone! One of my favorite stores over there was Archivers. I have always wanted to check one out. It was so worth it. Here are a few card samples I took pictures of. Of course, my favorite section was the school display they had set up right when you walk in! I wanted it all!!! The bookmark card really inspired me to make some bookmarks for my new first grade students (but I'll have to see how much time I have - maybe a Christmas idea!) Well, girls, if you are out there reading this - Let's do it again sometime! Fun, fun, fun!!!! We had such a good time! I can't wait until our next adventure.

More fun stuff!

I made this project at the convention last weekend. I learned how to use Twinkling H2O's. (like watercolors, but they have a little shimmer to them). This card also has a layer of "sugar dust" over the top. (Which is why the card doesn't look as clear - but it sparkles!). I think these will be alot of fun to play with! I am anxious to try them out.

Stamping Convention- Novi, Michigan

Wow! What a great get-away! I had the opportunity to go to the stamping convention in Novi, Michigan with some friends from Ludington and Manistee. I don't know where to start or what to show you first. I made way too many purchases, but I have to have a little of everything! So here is my first pic - probably my favorite purchase (but really, there were so many)! These are a few jumbo punches that I didn't have and the stamps that fit inside. I haven't had time yet to play with these. I found these great purchases at Endless Creations. Great booth, lots of fun stuff! Hopefully, I will be able to show some samples soon. More pics to come (when I can keep my eyes open!) that's all for now! TFL!!

Stamping Friends!

My Ludington and Manistee (and Bear Lake) friends! My Hudsonville stamping friends (actually we went to high school and college together and haven't seen each other in ages and now we are back together! :) My Kentwood/Wyoming stamping friends (who love Halloween along with me!!!! October will be great for us!) To all my stamping friends that came to stamp with me yesterday - I hope you all had a good time stamping (and shopping the pre-sale)!! Yesterday was the "kick-off" to our annual craft-garage sale and we had a day of stamping fun (before I have to sit in the garage for the garage sale!) Here are some pics of our fun day (and night!). I can't wait to organinze another stamping day. Here are two of my favorite cards from yesterday. I love this set "Moose You" from Stampin' Up.

Baby, Baby, Baby

Well, last week I went to a baby shower for my cousin and I thought I would add a little baby photo album to her present. I made a few extras for my craft show. Here are a few samples. The giraffe is from the set Wild About You (Stampin' Up )and the flower punch on this album is from Creative Memories. The brown bear is from the set Bundle of Joy (Stampin' Up). The decorative paper one (my favorite!) is the new Bella Rose designer paper and the new buttons (Stampin' Up). The fish stamps are from the set Funky Fish (Close to my Heart) and the bubble punch used behind the stamps is from Creative Memories. All of the phrases "Baby" are made from the Cricut Expression (welded together - love that feature!!) from the cartridge Base Camp.

A few more notes!

These are so much fun to make. Once you get going, they are a breeze. It is also a great way to use up your scrap papers and other odds and ends. For all of these, I used left over studff, I had some chipboard pieces, gem embellishments, paper clips, ribbon and yarn pieces (all from scraps!). TFL!

Take a Note!

Here are a few note pads I made for my summer craft shows. You can usually find good deals on these at the dollar store and then cover them with cute paper. These are covered with the Stampin' Up designer paper from Summer Picnic (which I believe will be in the new catalog). The stamps are the coordinating set Tart and Tangy (also Stampin' Up and will be available in new catalog).

Create from a Kit
