Spring Owl

This was some of the new paper I got on my little shopping spree this weekend. The paper is Basic Grey. At first I thought this looked a little too busy with the two pattern papers, but it has started to grow on me. I love these colors together. I made the owl from punches (1 3/4" circle punch, round tab punch and scallop circle punch all from Stampin' Up). Each of the body parts is embossed with embossing folders. For the eyes, I used the 1/2", 1/4", and 1/8" circle punches. The branch stamp is from Cheep Talk (Stampin' Up). The self adhesive felt flowers were from Hobby Lobby.

Stampin' Up Color Renovation

If you haven't already heard, Stampin' Up will be retiring 30 of their current colors on July 1, 2010. They will be adding some new colors at this time as well. Be sure to take a look at the farewell list and see what colors will be leaving. You may want to stock up on some of your favorite colors before they go! Call me if you have any questions or if you would like to place an order.

Scallop Post-it Note Hangers

I have been having a lot of fun decorating these scallop chipboard pieces. I used pattern paper for these two. (But I did buy some Ranger paint this weekend to try out on chipboard pieces in the future!). I actually decorated the scallop circle around the post-it notes I had. The square scallop was designed by finding this cute pattern paper. I just love the turquoise and red together. I also loved adding a little piece of chipboard (flower) on the corner of this one. I covered the flower with the coordinating paper on the back of the bird paper. I added a green and a turquoise blue button - they are actually layered on top of each other. Both projects were finished off with the new satin ribbon from Stampin' Up. (I love this ribbon and it will continue to be available in the next mini catalog). Thanks for stopping by!

Calendar Hanger

Here is the next example of my "chipboard hangers". Again, I used the house chipboard piece to decorate. I used the pattern paper "Welcome Neighbor" from Stampin' Up's Sale-a-bration. I cut out some extra trees from the paper and "popped" them up for a dimensional look. I added a small calendar to this hanger. Thanks for looking.

Well Worn Flowers

Here are a few different versions of the same flower, cut with the Cricut cartridge George and Basic Shapes. The pattern paper is from The Paper Loft from the "Well Worn" group. If you like the worn distressed look, you might want to check out their website, very cute stuff! For the center of the flowers, I used buttons that I had laying around. Other materials for embellishments include ribbon, paper clips, the oval punch and the scallop oval punch from Stampin' Up.

Post-it Note Hanger

Well, girls, this was my first attempt at the the post-it note hanger I saw on the site "The Stamping School". This video is also on her blog Where the Rubber Hits the Road. She used the new scallop board book from Stampin' Up (which is still available until the end of April) which I think is way cuter than mine. I was able to run the post-it notes through my Big Kick, but I had to do it in parts (about 15-20 sheets at a time). I cut the post-its with the Scallop Circle #2 die from Stampin' Up. The chipboard piece I used was from Michael's dollar bin. The cost of the materials came out to less than $1 (I only used half the post-it and the chipboard came with five pieces). These would make great parent helper gifts (at a very reasonable price). Now that I look back at the picture, it would make a cute bird house project. Tomorrow I am going to make a chipboard hanger with a calendar on it. Thanks for looking! PS. Check back to see how the flower cards turned out with the Cricut. Way cute!!

Spring Tulips

Well, where did March go?? I didn't realize it has been so long since I posted. This was a card from my last card class. This set Terrific Tulips is a retired Stampin' Up set. The flower vellum paper was from a value pack from JoAnn Fabrics. I stamped the tulips twice and cut one out. I "plumped" it with a stylus on a foam mat for the dimensional look. The ribbon is Stampin' Up.

Create from a Kit

I'm always on the look out for these kind of cards.  They are so easy to create from.  By using a few tools and supplies from your sta...
