Butterfly Hanging Notes

This is a hanging post-it note project I made. I found these circular post-it notes on clearance at JoAnn Fabrics (you never know what you can find on clearance!) The chipboard back is from Michael's. I covered this with a textured solid green cardstock. I then used a background alphabet stamp and a Ranger distressing ink to stamp the background (vintage photo). The small butterfly from the set "Bliss" is stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink (ink and stamp from Stampin' Up). I used brown organdy ribbon to make the hanger. Thanks for checking in. Check back soon for some "Back to school" projects! It is that time of year!

Vacation

Sorry I haven't posted lately, I just finished two craft shows back to back and then a week of vacation in Ludington (rest and relaxation before I need to go back to the classroom!). I want to send a shout out to everyone that stopped at my booth to shop and socialize. It was great seeing everyone again, and making so many new friends. My week in Ludington was great! Here is a picture of me and my husband, J. enjoying drinks on the upper deck, watching the Badger (ship) depart. My friend, Caty, camped across from us, so we spend most of the week shopping and antiquing, which got J. off the hook of having to go with me! I am so glad Caty and I like the same kind of shopping. I found some really fun deals for my home and for crafting. I have been really into making some vintage projects and I found this cute little case, perfect to display my vintage cards. Another great "find" was in Manistee (another shopping day). We stopped at the local Goodwill up there and I found six huge bags of old, vintage invitations, baby announcements, and thank you cards; still in packages. These are most likely from the 1960's and 1970's. For me that doesn't seem that old, but I now realize I am vintage! These will be fun to create cards and other projects with. I will post them (when I come up with some ideas!)

Baby Duck

The technique for our last card club meeting was making a card using a sticker. (Each month is designated for a different technique or style or theme for the cards.) For this month, I found these rubber duck sparkly stickers at Michaels (they are by Jolee). The pattern paper is just paper from my stash. The border and punch are from Stampin' Up (stamp is from the new hostess set "Tagtastic"). I used a white doilie behind the punched circle. The sentiment is also from Stampin' Up. Thanks for stopping by!

Vintage Baby Girl Albums

Here are a few more photo albums that I made. I used mostly all Melissa Frances products for this project. The tissue paper garland is fairly new and difficult to find in stores (I bought it at the Novi Convention). The die cuts are from a the Baby Ephemera Kit (also from Melissa Frances).

It SUITS You!

I found this cute little stamp set up in Ludington, Michigan at a local scrapbook store (The Scrapbook Nook). The stamp is an Itty Bitty by Unity (Unity Stamps & Jillibean Soup). I think I will be able to find some fun ways to use this stamp and cute sentiment. This project is a photo album (I also made some little notebooks with this stamp). I began with some coordinating pattern paper. The lace flowers were white (a little too white), so I used some Shimmerz Spritz in Caribbean Sunset to color them the pinkish coral color (I found this at Scrapbook Nook, also). I added a little glitter on the bathing suit for some extra sparkle. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my projects here on my blog. On a side note, I want to send a "shout out" to my new friends I made at the craft show this weekend in Holland. I am looking forward to having you come and stamp very soon!

Dreams Du Jour

Wow, I can't believe it is August already! Slow down summer! I have been lazy about posting pictures, but I have been busy creating; getting ready for the Holland Art in the Park on August 6, and the Gold Coast Festival in Ludington on August 13 and 14. If you are near West Michigan, come check these out. Here are two new cards I made with a retired Stampin' Up set I just got, Dreams Du Jour. For some reason it reminded me of seed packages (not sure why). I've liked this set for a while and thought now was the time to get it - before it was gone forever! Other than the stamp, the only other thing that is Stampin' Up is the newprint paper. Everthing else was sort of pieced together from my stash. I love the orange and blue combination with this set. The image is stamped in a coordinating blue ink (to match the paper), and then colored in with markers. Thanks for looking. By the way, check out my Etsy shop and these cards are for sale. Find the link right above my picture and name on the top, right hand side of blog. Thanks again!
